And What Impact It Can Have On Our Entire Household.
In today’s society, it is a rarity for anyone to be hired on word-of-mouth, alone. This includeswhat others say about contractors and what contractors say about themselves.
If we are interviewers or managers acting in that capacity, it is unlikely we will hire anyone without an intact application process. Why? The reason is that we require the right fit for our operational objectives.
Through experience we have learned that an effective application process is an irreplaceable
tool for documenting who the candidate is, where this individual lives, where this person works, has worked, when, etc.….
We also require the candidate’s Social Security Number, personal and business references, etc. - a resume’ for extra measure. We are not going to make an impromptu hiring decision on someone who walks in off the street. We are not going to say to this person:
My, my, my! You sound like a true professional. You speak well! YOU’VE got the job!
Sadly, in most documented reports of home fraud, residents did exactly. We made hiring decisions without having enough basic information to confirm or deny credibility of contractor candidates. But if we used an application process, we will have known whom and what they they "really" were. Exactly, what this is about.

These are often mis-named “stormchasers.” But this is not what they are – only a scandalous facet of what they do. Storms, as we are well aware, have no dominion over
catastrophe since there is also the pillage left by mudslides, wildfires, earthquakes, massive volcanic eruptions, monsoons, and such. Wherever there is mass destruction in America, they will be there. The misnomer "storm-chaser" is far too glamorous a name for bandits – which is what they are. They are not engaged in dignified scientific study/spectating as are legitimate storm-chasers. Instead, these kind of individuals roam from one calamity to another to deceive and callously rob distressed homeowners.
Wherever these grave hardships are in our country, they are there. For some, they have already defrauded quite a number of residents before moving on. We do not know where
they came from previous to soliciting work from us. We do not know what horrible things they did. But we hired them, anyway. Now we are their latest victim. To add insult to injury - we do not even know where they went.
